You can use our Hippocampe beach wheelchair as sand wheelchair to access to aquatic activities : handisurf, kayak for disabled people, swiming, adapted or even water skying.

Vipamat Hippocampe Beach wheelchair exists in four sizes : S, M, L and XL (Longer size). Hippocampe beach is manufactured in France and meets the quality requirements. It is certified ISO 13 485 and is FDA cleared.
For Families with disabilities and adults
Our Hippocampe Beach is a support for families with disabled child, to help them to access to more leasures and activities. With 130kg maximum authorized load, you can also use it as adult wheelchair.
Active users wheelchair or accompagnied
Towed, pushed or self-propelled, the Vipamat wheelchair offers autonomy to its user, a third party can assist the more heavily handicapped with its push bar or traction kit.
Off road wheelchair
Sand, gravel, grass, paths, with our off road wheelchair, access to any kind of terrains.

A snow wheelchair :
Hippocampe turns into ski wheelchair to go for walks on the snowy path with the front ski kit and the back ski set. Each ski can pivot separately, allowing the wheelchair to adapt to slopes.
Wheelchair for pool :
Thanks to its stainless materials, Hippocampe Beach and All-terrain can be used as handicap pool chair for private pool.
Water and nautical sports :
Thanks to its immersion in water, the beach wheelchair allows access to adapted physical activity and nautical sports as handicap water ski, handisurf.
All-terrain wheelchair :
Vipamat all terrain wheelchair provides access to the beach, to lakes et to swimming. Walk along the shore, go through the puddle, roll on the sand, and share some good moments with your family and friends.
Wheelchair hiking :
Take some steep paths, go for walks on forest or take the country roas with the Vipamat Hippocampe Beach wheelchair.
Pair of armrests (adjustable and retractable): The armrests, covered with foam, can be swivelled and retracted to facilitate transfers in the Hippocampe wheelchair.
Adjustable headrest: The headrest is covered with comfortable foam and adapts to the user’s position. It is adjustable forwards, backwards and in height.
Mixed harness: Made of comfortable and water-resistant elastic neoprene, the 4-point dual harness facilitates the user’s support and positioning.
Waist belt: Wide and comfortable, the waist belt keeps the user in a secure position at the end bottom of the seat. A comfort foam protects the user from contact with the buckle.
20 inch wheel covers: The 20” wheel covers protect the user’s hand from contact with the wheels.
Parking brakes: Pivoting and stainless steel, the parking brakes allow the wheelchair to be immobilised on small slopes or to facilitate transfers.
Confortable Plus Duo: The waterproof Stabilo neoprene positioning cushion can be shaped with a vacuum and provides additional support to the user by perfectly adapting to the body’s shape and needs.
Height adjustable and reclining backrest: The height adjustable and reclining backrest makes it easy to vary the total height of the backrest according to the user’s needs.
Armrest nets: The armrest nets fit between the seat and armrests to protect the user’s hands from the wheel spokes.
Footwell infill net: The footrest net fits between the seat and the footrest to protect the user’s feet.
Comfort options
Thermal cover: Comfortable and resistant, the thermal cover protects the user from cold and rain. Available in two sizes: M and L.
Rain canopy and legs protection: Suitable for rain, sun and wind, the rain canopy is made of anti-UV materials. Thanks to its wide, transparent windows, the user can enjoy a panoramic view.
Umbrella: The asymmetrical umbrella is wind resistant and protects from rain and sunrays.
Leisure options
Ballon wheels: Perfect for the beach, these ballon wheels , designed for sand, replace the dual wheels and makes it easier to push the wheelchair on fine sand.
Front ski: The front ski allows the wheelchair to move forwards on snowy paths and avoids snow accumulation on the front wheel.
Rear skis: Installed in place of the rear wheels and combined with the front ski, the set of rear skis allows the Hippocampe to adapt to snowy reliefs.
Handlebar: The handlebar optimises the pusher’s hand positioning and facilitates off-road walks.
Bags
Transport bag: Useful when travelling, the transport wheelchair travel bag protects the Hippocampe wheelchair during car or plane trips.
Backrest bag: The backrest bag, fitted on the back of the seat, allows to carry your personal belongings during your leisure activities and walks.
Sac roues ballons : Les roues ballons, qui facilitent les balades sur le sable sec peuvent être complexes à transporter. Avec le sac roues ballons et ses poignées latérales, la paire de roues ballons se transporte même à une main.
Une poche sur le dessus permet l’identification du sac.

Made in France, the special needs wheelchair Hippocampe is composed of stainless materials. The tube frame is made of treated seawater aluminum and is covered by a comfortable colored cladding which avoids sun and cold burns.
The axles and half-axles of wheels are made of stainless steel. Dual wheels are without ball-bearing, avoiding the jamming by oxidization.
The outer rim is covered by a grip that serves as handrail for users.The seat is composed of closed-cell foam for water resistance, with a thickness of 3 cm that it enables to be comfortable and quick-drying. The seat fabric is fireproof treated as required by French law.
A light wheelchair and transportable
The beach wheels, all-terrain wheel, ski options and push bar can be easily taken off and installed thanks to its clip system.
The light wheelchair Hippocampe can be transported in a wheelchair bag to put it in a car or travelling by plane (in option).

J’ai eu le plaisir d’ en livrer un certain nombre et ainsi le faire découvrir en région PACA entre 2003 et 2010 .

The Hippocampe Beach and All Terrain wheelchair allows us to take our son to amazing places, his wheelchair cannot go. He gets to experience nature and have fun, without us as parents having to carry him. The hippocampe is great as it can be dismantled very quickly and put into the carry bag. When you get to your destination it takes only 5 mins to assemble and off you go. I have also needed to replace some additional parts and Vipamat assisted me in finding a local supplier (in my home town !!!) who had the parts for me in a very short time.
